Brooke Lauren Lawson, 41, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 19, 2022 with her family by her side.

She was born Sept. 13, 1980 in Hillsboro, the daughter of Gary and Ruth (Lewis) Tucker.

Brooke was a graduate from Hillsboro High School. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati - DAAP program and her master's degree from Liberty University. She was an art teacher at the Hillsboro Christian Academy, where she also helped teach literature classes, religion, yearbook and website design.

Brooke and her husband, Kyle, were members of the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church. She enjoyed painting, horseback riding, summertime and red roses. Brooke loved her family, her friends and her cats, and she will be deeply missed by everyone that knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Kyle Lawson, whom she married Aug. 20, 2016 in Hillsboro; her children, Isaiah Lawson, Olivia Baker, Royal Baker and Victoria Lawson; her mother, Ruth Tucker; her sister, Toni Tucker-Smith; niece and nephews, Jordan Smith-Marsh, Tyler Smith and Jacob Smith; mother-in-law, Pamela Newkirk; father-in-law, Gene Lawson; an aunt, Tammy (Dan) Irvin; an uncle, Bill (Cindy) Lewis; special friends, Bethany Tolliver and Courtney Yezzi; and her aunts, uncles, extended family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gary Thomas Tucker, on April 26, 2020; maternal grandparents, Marcus and Gladys Lewis; paternal grandparents, Royal and Ruth Tucker; stepfather-in-law, Robert Newkirk, and grandparents-in-law, Darryl and Connie White.

Gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. in the Hillsboro Christian Academy Gymnasium, 849 S. High Street, Hillsboro 45133. Celebration of her life will begin Tuesday, July 26 at 7 p.m. in the gymnasium. All are welcome to join the family in celebrating Brooke’s life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hillsboro Christian Academy.
