Braden Tyler Cox, 21, of Hillsboro, died unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015 at his residence.

He was born June 27, 1994 in Washington C.H., the son of Katherine J. Fitzpatrick and Thomas G. Cox.

Braden was an avid outdoorsman who loved four-wheelers. He would take anything apart and put back together, always having spare parts, but it would still work.

Braden is survived by his mother and her fiancé, Kathy Fitzpatrick and Steve Cowdrey of Hillsboro; father and stepmother, Tom and Emma Cox of Hillsboro; two sisters, Laura Elaine Crawford and Kimberly Ann (Kenny) Phillips of Hillsboro; one brother, Craig A. Cowdrey of Hillsboro; maternal grandparents, James C. and Joyce A. Fitzpatrick, Sr. of Hillsboro; paternal grandmother, Katie Cox of Winter Haven, Fla.; extended grandparents, Kenny and Carol Crawford, Sr. of West Union, Regina Turner Jones of Peebles and Rose Marie Cowdrey of Hillsboro; three nieces, Lillian E. Fugate, Anna Phillips and Braylin Neylon; two nephews, Philip J.K. Shoemaker and John Neylon; cousin Courtney Hubbard; several aunts and uncles; special friends, Bob Lambert and Drew Hastings; and a host of friends.

Braden was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John Cox; and extended grandfather, Daniel Cowdrey.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Wiley Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from noon until 2 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
