Bonnie J Powell, 88, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024 at her home. 

She was born the daughter of the late Ova and Arizona King Childers on May 31, 1936 in Wolfe County, Ky. 

Bonnie loved gardening and working in her flower beds. She also enjoyed fishing trips. However, Bonnie’s biggest joy in life was her family. She worked hard for General Motors until her retirement after 35 years of service. 

She is survived by her husband, Myron Powell; daughters, Martha Griffin, Debra (Ron Wientjes) Herman, and Teresa (Verb) Comer; grandchildren, Chasity (Kyle) Shannon, Christy (Tim) Fielding, Stephen Reynolds, Leslie (John) Flynn, and Michael (Erin) Reynolds; great grandchildren, Ceara Salley, Gage Shannon, Jake Fielding, Tyler Jaynes, Sean Flynn, Bennett Reynolds and Natalie Reynolds; one sister, Faye Sallie; and two brothers, David and Glen Childers. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Charles Childers, Ray Childers, Nellie Collins and Audrey Rose. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 20 from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens. 

Memorials may be made to the Buck Wilkin Uptown Flower Fund, NCB, 139 S. High Street, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
