Bob B. Bailey
Bob B. Bailey, 63, of Hillsboro, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at home.
He was born April 12, 1959 in Dayton, the son of Robert and Mildred (Taylor) Bailey.
He was a 1977 graduate of Lynchburg High School and earned his associate’s degree in business at Shawnee State University.
He was happily married to Koneta J. (Riddell) Bailey from June 6, 1998 until his passing.
Bob had a love for life, and he loved creating something from nothing; tinkering with electronics, including building his very own version of the B9 Robot; and making the lives of everyone he loved better. There isn't a challenge he wouldn't try or a project he wouldn't tackle. It was fair to say, the more challenging the project, the more determined he was to take it on.
Music was always an important part of Bob's life, and he loved playing his guitar or bass and singing. Over the years, he played in several local bands and was never shy about performing. He loved sitting around a campfire jamming with family and friends.
Bob's favorite saying and philosophy for living a happy life was “Anytime is a good time to take a nap.”
He is survived by his wife, Koneta; three sons, Grant Bailey of Frankfort, Bradley Bailey of Florida and Taylor (Haley) Bailey of Amelia; stepdaughter, Katrina Parsons of Hillsboro; two stepsons, Joey (Jenny) Parsons of Hillsboro and Jeremy (Courtney) Parsons of Hillsboro; and nine grandchildren, Elena Jewell, Kellan Oscar, Aurora Marie, Marley Jai-Marie, Alivia Marie, Aubryn Jean, Miriah Jade, Eastyn Violet and Isabelle Rae. Bob leaves behind a multitude of family, extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill Taylor; and sister, Patricia Bogner.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 5-8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
