Barbara Puckett

Barbara Puckett, 81, of Lake Alfred, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015.
She had worked as a cashier for the Kroger Co. in Hillsboro for 30-plus years and enjoyed her many interactions with customers and friends she saw daily. She and Roger were married in 1979 in Hillsboro and traveled to many locations throughout the country, enjoying the trips fully. She also enjoyed many good books and quilting numerous things for her family and friends. She and Roger moved to Florida in 2001, where they both became members of the Winter Haven Christian Church, where she also played piano and sang in the choir as she always loved her music. She was a member of the Red Hats, Sheriff's Cap Program and TOPS. She loved playing Shanghi with PJ, their minister and good friend.
Those who knew Barb know she was a rock and an encouragement to all, especially her husband and family. She is and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Roger Puckett; her loving doggy, Petey; a brother, Mike; her daughter, Charla Tootle; two sons, Monte and Jay Fisher; two stepdaughters, Angie Godby and Jennifer Puckett, whom she loved dearly; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
