Anthony Ferrol “Tony” Monts De Oca, 58, of Hillsboro, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, Nov. 30, 2018 at his home.
He was born Feb. 26, 1960 in Wilmington, the son of the late Jack and Margene (Gustin) Monts De Oca.
He was a member of Good News Gathering in Hillsboro.
On April 26, 2014 in Hillsboro, he married his wife Teresa J. “Terri” (Moore) Monts De Oca, and she survives. He is also survived by two children, Amanda (Jonathan) Brito of Alabama and Adam (Brittany) Monts De Oca of Bailey, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Sarah Mercer-Doyle and Sherry Jo Stover; a grandson, Felix Brito; two step-grandchildren, Braxton Mercer and Mara McLaughlin; two sisters, Lynn (Bob) Lowell of Hillsboro and Ann Gard of Ocala, Fla.; a brother, Jack (Kathy) Monts De Oca of Reynoldsburg; his parents-in-law, Robert and Joyce Moore of Hillsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with his wishes, Tony will be cremated. A memorial service and celebration of his Tony’s life will be held 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018 at Good News Gathering. Jeff Lyle will officiate.
