Annabell Smith

Annabell Smith, 71, of Hillsboro, died Monday, Dec. 21, 2015 at her home.
She was born July 6, 1944 in Hillsboro, the daughter of the late Leonard and Alberta Rickman Johnson.
Mrs. Smith had worked for the RobertShaw Company in Hillsboro until it relocated and then worked and retired from the SealTite Company. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.
She is survived by three children, Reberta Ann “Slim” Thomas and her husband Maurice of Aurora, Colo., Merion Lee “Boobie” Smith of Hillsboro and Ernest “Boss” Smith of Wilmington; 11 grandchildren, Maurice Emanuel Thomas, Andre Jamel Thomas, Yolanda Smith, Jatwaun White, Jameeka Smith, Antonio Ames, Kyle McKeever, Rual′Qa Smith, Jay′i Smith, CJ Lewis and Aubree Lewis; seven great-grandchildren; and four brothers, David Johnson and his wife Melonie of Xenia, Robert Jewett of Xenia, Arnett Jewett of Boston, Mass. and Roger Jewett and his wife Darlene of Aurora, Colo.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Donald Jewett, Charles Leonard Johnson and James Charles Johnson; and her grandmother, Ellen Bell (Cumberland) Kittrell.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 29 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home. Pastor Mike Hudson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
