Anna Evalee (Dodds) Kistler, 83, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Salyer Adult Group Home in Hillsboro with her family by her side.
She was born Feb. 28, 1933 near Tranquility, the daughter of the late David Austin and Virgie Inez (Wylie) Dodds.
Anna graduated from Belfast High School in 1951. She was employed at Sequoia Supply Company in Columbus for 33 years. She returned to Hillsboro and enjoyed volunteering at nursing homes and at the Hillsboro Elementary School. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ and the Highland County Senior Citizens.
She is survived by one brother, John Earnest (Betty) Dodds of Hillsboro; one sister, Esther Eldora (Gary) Carrel of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; one niece, Heidi Margueriette Carrel; four nephews, John Mark (Melissa) Dodds, Timothy Lee (Sharon) Dodds, Christopher Robin (Michele) Dodds and David Roy (Karen Elizabeth) Carrel; four great-nieces, Ashley Elizabeth (Adam) Muddiman, Shelby Callie Dodds, Courtney Ali Dodds and Eleanor Grace Carrel; four great-nephews, Ryan Timothy and Brennan Jacob Dodds and William Austin and Patrick Sterling Carrell; and one great-great nephew, Nolan Adam Muddiman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James William Kistler, in 1982.
Anna's funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home. Danny Dodds and Jamie Burton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
