Amanda L. Carter, 34, of Hillsboro, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center.

She was born in Sandusky on Nov. 10, 1982, the daughter of Gary Ferguson of Clyde and Tammy (Ronald) Istvan of Hillsboro.

Amanda was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, Mi Mi and friend to all and loved life. Amanda bravely fought her disease as the wonder woman she has always been.

Besides her parents, Amanda is survived by her husband, Jeremy Carter, whom she married on Aug. 17, 2002; daughter, Marissa Carter; two sons, Zackery Carter and Brady Carter; brother, Tony (Jenna) Ferguson of Columbus; two sisters, Logan (Michael) Bailey of Hillsboro and Aryka (Steven) McCoy of Hillsboro; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Good News Gathering in Hillsboro. Burial will follow at the Mowrystown Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at the Thompson Funeral Home.

Donations can be made to the Hospice of Hope or to the Foster James Boyd Cancer Center in Wilmington.
