Alton C. Nicholson, 86, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Autumn Years Nursing Center in Sabina.
He was born March 19, 1936 in Roanoke Rapids, N.C., the son of the late Charlie Armstead and Agatha Leon (Baggett) Nicholson.
Mr. Nicholson had retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Miriam (Ivey) Nicholson, whom he married May 18, 1990; two children, Laura (Jeff) Saunders of Hillsboro and Kathy (David Culbreth) Nicholson of Port Charlotte, Fla.; and numerous friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Virginia Gaither, Wilma Whitfield and Edward Nicholson.
In keeping with his wishes, he was cremated. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
