Allen Coleman, 75, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, Dec. 6, 2024 at Adena Greenfield Medical Center.
 
He was born March 26, 1949 in Hillsboro, the son of Thomas Allen and Beulah (Burgess) Coleman.
 
He was a 1967 graduate of Fairfield High School and a member of Centerfield Community Church and F.O.E. #1325. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Alaska providing missile defense. He cherished his time in Alaska and was especially proud of the fact that he killed a bull moose while there.
 
He was still working at Standard Aero of Hillsboro, where he had been proudly employed for the last 33 years. He was previously employed at Hobart of Hillsboro.
 
Allen always ended his conversation with “God bless America, and pass the ammunition.”

He is survived by his son, Tommy (Ashley) Coleman of Wilmington; two brothers, Thomas B. (Darlene) Coleman of Texas and Johnny Bill Coleman of Indiana; several nieces and nephews; two special friends, Rose from work and Whack; and his beloved cat, Leo.
 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Pauline Coleman, on Oct. 7, 2021; one son, Richard Lee Harmon Jr.; and both parents.
 
In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place, and a memorial service will be Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025 at 3 p.m. at the Centerfield Community Church, 11403 Centerfield Rd., Greenfield beginning with an appreciation service, then Pastor Marvin Walker to officiate. Military rites will be provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield.
 
Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 4 from 1-3 p.m. at the church.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
 
The Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield is serving the family.
