Allen Charles Carbert, 76, of Greenfield, passed away on Friday, Nov. 23, 2018 at Westmoreland Place in Chillicothe.
 
He was born Oct. 30, 1942 in Minot, N.D., the son of Charles and Nadine M. (Mortenson) Carbert.
 
He was of the Methodist faith. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of American Legion Post 14 of Bainbridge. He was retired from Candle-Lite of Leesburg.
 
He is survived by one son, Allen (Kelly) Carbert, Jr. of Washington; two daughters, Stephanie (Aaron) Schirm and Kristen (Nick) Richmond, both of Chillicothe; four grandchildren, Winslow, Karsyn, Parker and Elise; two sisters, Linda (Bill Stanley) Worley of North Dakota and Gayle (Roger) Simmons of Washington; one brother, Jerry (Gloria) Carbert of Washington; two stepsons, Scott Osborne of Greenfield and Tony Osborne of Washington C.H.; two stepdaughters, Ashley (Danny) Riggs-White of Washington C.H. and Kali Knisley of Chillicothe; three step-grandchildren, Sebastian, Mallory and Tashia; several nieces and nephews; and special friends whose lives he touched during AA.
 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred “Kitty” Carbert on Aug.19, 2017; brother-in-law, Pat Worley; and both parents.
 
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with veterans appreciation service and then officiating by Pastor Neil Foster. Burial will follow in the Cochran Cemetery in New Martinsburg with military rites to be provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield.
 
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
