Adolph “Doc” Flannery, 83, of Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021 at home.
He was born Nov. 29, 1937 in Elliott County, Ky., the son of Clyde Washington Sr. and Virgie (Kidd) Flannery.
“Doc” was an adventurous man of many successful businesses throughout his career. He was known for his winning personality, from farming and raising beef cattle to currently having a car dealership for the past 25 years and developing the Blueberry Hill Cabins at Rocky Fork Lake. He enjoyed the outdoors and boating. He was a loyal fan of Kentucky Wildcats basketball and March Madness tournaments.
“Doc” is survived by his wife of 64 years, Pam (Hull) Flannery; son, Jeff (Victoria) Flannery of Belle Center and daughter, Jackie Flannery Howland of Hillsboro; beloved grandchildren, Tiffani (Howard) Davis, Shannon (Dane) Ditto, Dustin Scott and Justin Scott; five great-grandchildren, Rylee, Harlen and Ridge Davis, Kaylee Scott and Domenic Ditto; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by a much-loved and deeply missed granddaughter, Heather Flannery; brothers and sisters, Roy Flannery, Clyde Flannery, Jr., Frank Flannery, Lois Adkins and Marie Flannery Caudill; and niece, Greta Toth.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, Nov. 19, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Littleton & Rue Funeral Home, 830 N. Limestone St., Springfield with Mr. Kevin Hull (nephew) and Mr. Bill Hull officiating. The family will receive friends two hours before the service from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
