Adam “Paul” Popson III, 56, passed away unexpectedly Jan. 27, 2023 in Dayton.
He was born Dec. 15, 1966 in Wilmington to Barbara and Adam Popson Jr.
Paul accompanied his father to job sites from an early age and could win nail driving competitions against adults as a child. He began working in construction after graduating high school and honed his skills to become regarded as one of the best interior finish carpenters in the area. His commitment to excellence and attention to detail showed through in every aspect of the work he performed.
Paul grew up on a farm and enjoyed running tractors and farming. He also liked camping and riding his side by side. He often reflected fondly on the time he spent riding and racing four wheelers with his family and friends. Paul was a member of the Wilmington Church of Christ and was a 1985 graduate of Blanchester High School.
Paul was deeply devoted to his family and friends, and while he will be greatly missed by many, they can be comforted by his legacy as a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Paul is survived by his devoted wife, Andrea, whom he married Oct. 15, 2005; daughter, Amber; son, Adam; granddaughter, Brooklyn; grandson, Ayden; sisters, Honey Bennet and Beverly Small; brother, Michael; parents, Adam and Barbara; and many colleagues and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his sister, Tammy Duggins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Wilmington Church of Christ, 909 W. Locust St., with Pastor Dale McCamish officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 W. Locust St.
