SSCC's Ag Department to hold plant sale May 17

The agriculture department at Southern State Community College will hold a plant sale from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, in the atrium lobby of the college’s Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro.
All plants — offered on a first-come, first-serve basis—were grown and cared for by students in the college’s agriculture classes, and include seven varieties of tomatoes, seven varieties of peppers, cabbage, broccoli, red and pink geraniums, coleus, marigolds, pansies, dill, rosemary and cilantro.
Proceeds will be used to support greenhouse operations and laboratory costs for the horticulture courses.
For summer quarter (June 20-August 13), AGRI 129 Vegetable Production will be offered 6-8:15 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at Central Campus.
