Highland County Republican Party Executive Chair Paulette Donley announced Monday morning the appointment of Deborah J. Sansone as Hillsboro city treasurer.
As previously reported, Steven Conrad resigned as treasurer Thursday, March 9, effective immediately, while Hillsboro Mayor Justin Harsha appointed Dawson Barreras as treasurer hours later, pending appointment by the Republican Central Committee.
“The Highland County Republican Central Committee, through its members residing in the City of Hillsboro, announce the appointment of Deborah J. Sansone to the position of City Treasurer,” Donley wrote in her announcement Monday. “Ms. Sansone resides on West Beech Street in Hillsboro.”
Donley said that Sansone has been appointed by the Central Committee members residing in the City of Hillsboro, who include Tracy Aranyos, Dick Donley, Roger Huffman, Janis Vosper and Charlie Walker.
Sansone formerly worked at the Hillsboro City Hall as an administrative assistant for Hillsboro Mayor Drew Hastings. She also served as clerk of Hillsboro City Council.
According to Donley, Sansone will be sworn into office later this week.
