The Village of Mowrystown welcomed the season Saturday with its annual Christmas Parade and Craft Show.
The Grand Marshal of the parade was Chuck Wait, who recently celebrated 40 years in business.
The parade was sponsored by the Mowrystown Lions Club, who awarded cash prizes for the winners of three categories: Best of Theme, Best Decorated Vehicle and Judge's Choice. The theme was “Jingle Bell Christmas.”
The entry from Chuck Wait Tire won Best of Theme, with the Eastside Baptist Church and Mowrystown Presbyterian Church winning Best Decorated and Judge's Choice, respectively.
The Whiteoak Marching Band led the festivities through town with sounds of the season. The parade ended at the high school, where the Whiteoak Valley Grange hosted their Annual Craft Fair with food, fun and a visit from St. Nick.
The organizers would like to thank Jill Ruble Stolz for orchestrating the parade; Brian and Lori Vance for emceeing and sound work; the Southern Highland Joint Fire District and Chief Kevin Mosely; Republican Candidate for Sheriff Brandon Stratton for traffic control; and every participant for bringing joy to the village.
