More than $4,000 was raised to offset unpaid school lunches in the Lynchburg-Clay Local School District in memory of former Lynchburg-Clay varsity basketball standout William Keith Glover.

A check presentation was held Monday, March 18.

Glover passed away Feb. 21 at his home in Buford after a battle with cancer. He was 50.

According to his brother, Brian, raising funds for the students who had outstanding lunch balances was Keith's way of giving back to his community.

"One of the last things Keith wanted to do was help those kids and families who couldn't afford their lunches," Brian told Fox 19 News.

"We are so thankful to everyone who donated, and we want to publicly express how much everyone's donations means not only us but to Keith's memory," Jodi McPherson (Keith's partner) told The Highland County Press. "We raised $4,087 for students' unpaid balances."
