Lindsey Grimes of Hillsboro has been selected to receive a $1,500 academic scholarship to The Ohio State University.
Sponsored by the Robert A. and Dorothy M. Hodson Family 4-H Scholarship Endowment Fund, the scholarship is awarded to one undergraduate student each year in the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences who attended high school in Highland County and completed at least one year of 4-H membership. Preference is given to those students with out standing 4-H achievement who continue to lead and serve in the University or local community.
The Hodson Scholarship Fund has been providing annual scholarships to Highland County students since 1992, having assisted 32 students to date.
“Lindsey has been outstanding in her 4-H experience, leadership and in all other endeavors,” stated the Hodsons.
There are more than 340,000 youths in more than 34,000 clubs led by 25,000 volunteers involved in the Ohio 4-H programs. 4-H offers a variety of hands-on educational experiences to diverse audiences through community clubs, school enrichment, after-school programming, international experiences and more.
The 4-H Youth Development Program is conducted through The Ohio State
University Extension and the United States Department of Agriculture, in
cooperation with the Highland Board of Commissioners.
