Leesburg Friends Church announces retirement of Pastor John Fitzgerald after 40 years of faithful service and welcomes new Pastor Katie Hollingsworth

LEESBURG — Leesburg Friends Church is celebrating the remarkable ministry of Pastor John Fitzgerald along with his wife, Carolyn, as he retires after 40 years of dedicated service to the congregation and community.
Pastor Fitzgerald has faithfully served Leesburg Friends Church for four decades, providing spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and a steadfast commitment to sharing God's love throughout the Leesburg area. His impact on generations of families and individuals has left a lasting legacy that will continue to be felt for years to come.
The community is invited to honor Pastor Fitzgerald at a retirement open house on Sunday, June 28 from 2-4 p.m. at the Leesburg Fire Station, 200 South Street, Leesburg. Friends, former members and community residents are encouraged to attend and celebrate his years of faithful ministry and service.
As the church honors Pastor Fitzgerald's retirement, it is also pleased to welcome Pastor Katie Hollingsworth as its new pastor.
Katie Hollingsworth is the daughter of Julie Terrell and the late Tom Terrell. She was raised at Fairview Friends Meeting and is a graduate of East Clinton High School and Baldwin Wallace University. She is married to Jason Hollingsworth.
She is excited about getting to know the Leesburg community and look forward to serving alongside the congregation of Leesburg Friends Meeting.
