Hillsboro Police Report

On Friday, June 3 at approximately 12:24 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department was dispatched to a one-car roll-over crash at the entrance to Hillsboro High School on South High St. Investigation shows that Patrina Wright, 47, of Hillsboro, was southbound on South High St. when she lost control of her vehicle, traveled across the center line, off the opposing side of the highway, into a ditch line and then overturned in the high school entrance. Wright was extricated from the vehicle by Hillsboro Fire and Squad and was transported to Highland District Hospital and then flown to Miami Valley Hospital. Her condition was unknown at the time of the press release. The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Hillsboro Police Department.

At approximately 1:02 p.m., HPD officers were dispatched to Walmart in reference to two males shoplifting. When the subjects were approached by Walmart Asset Protection, one fled on foot and another fled to a car and drove off. The HPD officer made a traffic stop on the vehicle and found stolen merchandise in the vehicle. The male was identified as Dakota Moon of Leesburg. Moon was questioned about the identity of the second subject, and Moon gave false information. Moon was arrested for theft and obstructing official business. While HPD officers were on this traffic stop, Highland County Sheriff's Office deputies located the second subject, Anthony Pizzo. HPD detectives spoke with Pizzo, and he admitted his role in the theft. During a search incident to arrest, drug abuse instruments were found on Pizzo. HPD officers also located more stolen property in the area where Pizzo was apprehended. Pizzo was arrested for theft and possessing drug abuse instruments. Both were booked into the Highland County Jail and are slated for arraignment in the Hillsboro Municipal Court on Monday, June 6.[[In-content Ad]]
