Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley (GESMV) is conducting a ground-breaking ceremony in anticipation of a new Adult Day Support Center in Hillsboro at 500 Harry Sauner Road.
On Friday, June 20, Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley will host a ground-breaking ceremony to celebrate the expansion of its existing Hillsboro Goodwill retail store to include a new Adult Day Support (ADS) Center for individuals with developmental disabilities.
The event will be attended by state and local leadership, including State Sen. Shane Wilkin, State Rep. Bob Peterson, Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jamie Wheeler, President and CEO of GESMV Lance Detrick, and Vice President and Chief Mission Officer for GESMV, Jennifer Bonifas.
“Hillsboro is home to several families in need of a beautiful, safe, and supportive place for their loved one with developmental disabilities to connect to the community. Our new center provides this by coordinating activities, volunteer experiences, and a wide range of social engagements to help those individuals thrive,” Detrick said.
The Hillsboro ADS Center is expected to be fully operational by March 2026.
It will provide door-to-door transportation and weekday operating hours from
9 a.m.-2 p.m. Participants will engage in daily programming activities and community outings. To ensure community integration occurs daily, all centers operate based on a small census, serving up to 15 individuals per site.
