Bond set at $75,000 for alleged Hillsboro shooter

Bond was set at $75,000 for an area resident charged with shooting a Hillsboro man in the face.
Jimmie Jacobs, of Hillsboro, was arrested earlier this week on one charge of felonious assault after he allegedly shot Jonathan Harris, 28, of Hillsboro at J and J Automotive, where Harris lives.
Harris is in critical condition at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
Jacobs had been scheduled for arraignment Dec. 16 in Hillsboro Municipal Court, but the court was closed due to inclement weather. He was arraigned Dec. 17 before Judge David H. McKenna, where bond was set for $75,000. If posted, he is to remain under house arrest, have reporting probation, to be held if he tests positive for drugs, and is to have no contact with Harris, according to the court.
According to the Hillsboro Police Department, a 911 call reporting a shooting called officers to 60 Belfast Pike Wednesday around 6:30 p.m. Officers found that Harris had been shot in the face, and began processing the crime scene. HPD Chief Nick Thompson said that the even remains under investigation as they continue with interviews and analysis of evidence.
