Batavia OSHP Post investigating fatal crash

BATAVIA – The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single vehicle fatal crash. The crash occurred on July 8 at approximately 7:29 p.m. on Bootjack Corner Road in Williamsburg Township, Clermont County.

The preliminary investigation showed a 2008 Dodge Charger, operated by Christopher Riley Sr., 49, of Goshen, was traveling southeast on Bootjack Corner Road. The vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the right side of the road, and struck a utility pole. The Dodge then overturned several times before coming to final rest. 

Riley sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was declared deceased at the scene. 

Riley wasn’t wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. 

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Clermont County Sheriff’s Department and Williamsburg Township Fire.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
