Annual Sgt. Morris Newton Memorial Veterans Golf Outing set for July 28 in Hillsboro
The 13th annual Sgt. Morris (Moe) Newton Memorial Veterans Golf Outing will be held Sunday, July 28 at the Hillsboro Elks 361 golf course.
The golf outing is hosted by the Highland County Veterans Honor Guard and the Hillsboro Elks and sponsored by the Sons of the American Revolution Highlanders Chapter.
An Honor Guard memorial service will be held at noon, with tee times at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.
There will be three simultaneous events: a veterans open foursome (with at least two veterans); an open foursome; and a coed foursome (with at least one female or one male). The cost is $300 per team.
You may also sponsor a hole for $100. Make checks payable to the SAR (Sons of the American Revolution) Highlanders Chapter. All proceeds will benefit the Georgetown Veterans Home and the Highland County American Revolutionary War Memorial.
The outing will include closest to the pin contest, longest putt contest, first- and second-place awards for all three divisions, skins, hole prizes, a chili cookoff and a 50/50 raffle. Food, snacks and nonalcoholic drinks will be provided.
