Melinda J. Mustard
Melinda J. Mustard, 63, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the residence of her sister, Marilyn Jones, after a battle with cancer.
Melinda was born Feb. 6, 1960 in West Union, the daughter of the late James H. Cluxton and Juanita (Miller) Cluxton.
Melinda went to Peebles High School, where she participated in band and cheerleading. She worked in Columbus for a Family Physicians and Neurology Group, doing their medical billing. She was baptized at the Hilliard Church of Christ and was a member of The Church Next Door.
Melinda spent all her time when not at work with her sister, Marilyn. They both enjoyed shopping and going out to eat.
She is survived by her daughter, Amber (David) Temple of Hillsboro; two grandchildren, Gaven Temple of Hillsboro and Hayleigh (Brandon) Worley of Peebles; two great-grandchildren, Brantley and Keegan Worley; sisters, Marilyn Jones of Columbus, Sue (Brad) Watson of Columbus, Helen (Terry) Newman of Peebles and Debbie (Jim) Shupert of Seaman; uncles and aunts, John and Carma Cluxton of Peebles, Bill and Glenna Cluxton of Cincinnati and Carol Campbell of Fairborn; nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.
Besides her parents. she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Ruth Ann Cluxton; brother, Mike Cluxton; and nephew, Brian Cluxton.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the Prospect Cemetery, corner of East Prospect Road and state Route 73, Hillsboro. No funeral or visitation will be held. The Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
