Melanie Jo (May) Stacy, of Port Orange, Fla., passed away July 2, 2023.

She was born July 13, 1951 in Cavour, S.D. to the late Albert and Daisy May.

She was a dedicated nurse, educator and entrepreneur for many years. She shaped many lives of those she encountered throughout her life. She was a member of Providence Church in Ormond Beach, Fla. 

She leaves behind her husband, William Stacy; a son, Andrew Priest; and two daughters, Pennie Lane and Terra Stacy, all of Port Orange, Fla. She was the grandmother to Kent Carey of Huntington, W.Va., Leela Lane of Port Orange, Fla. and Isaiah and Gabby Poku of Port Orange, Fla. She had four great-grandchildren, Andrea, Kennedi, Kassidy and Xavier. She also leaves behind two sisters/brothers-in-law: Barbara (May) and Jerry Ross, of Batavia and Melinda (May) and Craig Martin of Leesburg; and four brothers/sisters-in-law: Charles and Patricia May of Beavercreek, Kenneth and Martha May of Leesburg, Allen and Paula May of Leesburg and James May of Leesburg.   

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Patricia May Reynolds; and one son, Shane Stacy. 

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Leesburg. Kevin Stuckey will officiate.
