Lynchburg-Clay boys and girls soccer both tie against Western Brown

Thursday saw both the Lynchburg-Clay boys and girls soccer teams finish with a tied score, as the Lady Mustangs tied Western Brown by a 1-1 score, and the LCHS boys and WBHS boys each were scoreless in their tied match.
In the boys game, LCHS and the Broncos finished with a 0-0 score. In two games this season, the Mustangs are 0-1-1 overall, and keeper Isaac Eyre has 12 saves through the first two games of the season.
In the girls match, the Lady Mustangs and Lady Broncos finished with a 1-1 score after 80 minutes of soccer.
For LCHS, their lone goal was scored by Jade Massey, who now has six goals in three games this season. Massey’s goal on Thursday against WBHS was assisted by Addie Downing.
LCHS totaled 11 shots in the girls match, and keeper Caitlyn Collins totaled five saves in the tied game.
The Lady Mustangs now stand at 2-0-1 overall.
Next for both LCHS teams is Minford at MHS. The Lady Mustangs play first at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19, and the boys team is scheduled to follow at 1 p.m.
