Loyd Edward Tolle

Loyd Edward Tolle, 73, of Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023 at home while surrounded by his family.
 
He was born May 16, 1950 in New Vienna, the son of Loyd and Irene (Rittenhouse) Tolle.
 
He served in the U.S. Army, 1st Cavalry Division in the Vietnam War, was an avid pilot and was a member of the Centerfield Ministries. He loved God, family and his country.
 
He retired from RCI in 2009 after 20 years of employment as a corrections officer. Also, he was a former deputy sheriff at the Highland County Sheriff Department and served as a special deputy in Ross and Pike counties.
 
He is survived by his wife, Donna (Faulconer) Tolle, whom he married June 16, 1972; two daughters, Sandra (Chad) Bolin of Hillsboro and Crystal (Norm) Saunders of Leesburg; four grandchildren, Hannah (Shelby) Rumpke, Tyler Rumpke (Lora Leigh Hunter), Ethan Saunders (Leslie Hacker) and Cadence Saunders; one sister, Mary Hauck of Waverly; one brother, Floyd Hauck of Chillicothe; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his service dog, Oliver.
 
He was preceded in death by one son, John Edward Tolle; one sister, Clara Lee Tolle; father, Loyd Tolle; and mother, Irene Hauck.
 
Funeral service will be Saturday, July 22 at 11 a.m. at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield beginning with a veterans appreciation service, then Pastor Marvin Walker to officiate. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery with military rites provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield.
 
Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
