Lois Eileen Mottie
Lois Eileen Mottie, 92, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, July 14, 2023 at Adena Greenfield Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 8, 1931 in Highland County, the daughter of Earl C. and Virginia Mildred (Mercer) Kerns.
Lois was a homemaker and a former employee of Fairfield School District. She studied with Dawn Bible Students.
She is survived by four sons, Donald Lee (Laurel) Mottie of South Bloomfield, John Leslie (Pam) Mottie of Hillsboro, Steven Earl Mottie of Greenfield and Thomas Lowell (Jeanette) Mottie of Greenfield; two daughters, Lisa Ann (Mark) Grimsley of Greenfield and Michelle (Bill) Wheaton of Greenfield; 32 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles (Sharon) Kerns of Greenfield and Richard C. (Jackie) Kerns of Jamestown; three sisters, Marianna Morgan of Chillicothe, Frances Mathers of Springfield and Linda (Jerry) Kidder of Virginia; one son-in-law, Bob Ely of Safety Harbor, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Mottie, on May 4, 2004; two sons, Paul Timothy Mottie and Robert G. Mottie; one daughter, Cherry Sue Ely; two brothers, Lowell Edwin Kerns and Donald Kerns; one sister, Helen Jean Cline; two grandchildren, Dustin Mottie and Stevie Mottie Jr.; and both parents.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 24 at 1 p.m. at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Brother George Balko officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilboa Cemetery near New Petersburg. Food and fellowship will follow from 2-5 p.m. at the Greenfield VFW Ranch.
Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
