The Linder Family Tennis Center in Mason was home to the latest Carvana Summer Series Pickleball Tour, held Sept. 7-10. The Baird Wealth Management Cincinnati Open hosted nearly 1,000 registrants, including the top pickleball players in the world, such as Ben Johns and Anna Leigh Waters, as well as dozens of other major competitors in this sport that has exploded across the country.
In addition to the professional division, there was a major amateur competition with multiple skill and age determined categories where over 900 registrants competed.
Hillsboro residents Jeff Truitt and Adam King won Gold in the 34 and under division at the 3.5 skill level on Saturday.
On Sunday, Truitt and Rebecca Sexton matched that with a Gold in Mixed Doubles at the 3.5 skill level in the 50-59 age group.
Also on Sunday, King and Crystal Wildey gathered a fourth-place finish at the 3.5 level in the 34 and under age group. Overall, an outstanding representation in a major amateur tournament by these locals.
