Kathryn P. “Polly” Dillon

Kathryn P. “Polly” Dillon, 77, of Hamilton, formerly of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Optimized Senior Living of Lebanon. 

She was born Oct. 5, 1945, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Clara Moeckel and Edward Whyde. 

Polly graduated from Zanesville High School. The career that brought her the most joy was operating a daycare in her home for over a decade. She also enjoyed being with her coworkers at the US Shoe Factory in Greenfield and Candle-lite in Leesburg. Polly had attended Greenfield First Baptist Church, Grace Baptist Church of Greenfield and the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Hamilton.  

She is survived by her daughter, Tabatha (Rusty) Riegler of Fairfield; two grandsons, Will and Weston Riegler; three sisters, Barbie Kay (Jerry) VanHoose of Kentucky, Dawn (Lonnie) Looman of Texas and Eve Quant of Colorado; one brother, Gahlan (Kathy) Czerpak of Indiana; and a number of beloved nieces and nephews. 

Polly was preceded in death by her son, Shawn Michael Dillon on April 27, 2002; and by her foster mother, Helen Czerpak.  

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at 1 p.m. in the Anderson-Ebright Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Todd Ernst officiating. Following the service, Polly will be laid to rest beside her son, Shawn, in Greenfield Cemetery. 

Family and friends can visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Grace Baptist Church of Greenfield.
