Judy (Starbuck) Forman

Judy (née Starbuck) Forman, 78, of Cincinnati, passed away June 12, 2023 at The Auberge in The Woodlands, Texas, surrounded by family.
 
Judy was born Oct. 19, 1944, in San Francisco, Calif.

Judy was a 1961 graduate of Hillsboro High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Miami University of Ohio and master’s degree from Xavier University. While teaching physical education at Clermont Northeastern Schools, she earned an Ed.D from the University of Cincinnati in 1984. She went on to write the flight manuals for the F14s and F16s with General Electric engines and many technical training manuals for Fidelity Investments.
 
Judy loved to travel with family (especially her cousin, Pam Limes of Hillsboro) and experience new cultures. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing tennis with her sister Barbara and friends. She was an excellent baker and relished sharing her edibles with others. Judy was devoted to her son and her love for dogs and horses. Her Welch and Verville families provided great care and love for her during her stay in Texas, especially her great-grandnephews Harrison and Leo and great-grandnieces Nora and Ella.

She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Welch (Gary) of The Woodlands, Texas and Jill Byham (Stuart) of Raleigh, N.C.; brother, Robert Starbuck (Mimi) of Holly Springs, N.C.; son, Chris Van Pelt (Cari) of Loveland; nieces, Julie Verville (Keith), Emilie Tack (Jason), Maria Steppling (Gary) and Nancy Klein (Marty); and nephew, Matt Starbuck (Shauna).
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles R. “Dick” and Shirley (née Stockwell) Starbuck of Hillsboro; husband, George A. Forman of Cincinnati; ex-husband, R.H. “Van” Van Pelt of Reno, Nev.; and niece, Marlo (née Raizk) Trott.
