Joyce W. Main
Joyce W. Main, 85, of the Marshall community, passed away Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023 at the Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati.
Joyce was born July 28, 1938 in Upper Sandusky, the daughter of the late Willard and Lennie (Stamper) Chinn.
Joyce was a graduate of Winchester High School. After graduation, she went to work at RobertShaw Controls in Hillsboro, where she met Bill, and worked several years at Hunter Meats in Marshall.
Joyce was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family. Joyce and Bill enjoyed traveling with their camper all over the country in the summer and spending winters in Florida visiting their daughter's family. She loved the outdoors, gardening and raising flowers.
Joyce attended Marshall Methodist Church and was strong in her faith. She was a very faithful caregiver to so many.
Joyce is survived by her two loving daughters, Debra (Jay) Jones of Hillsboro and Jo Ann (Joe) Penkalski of Delray Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren, Clinton (Amanda) Shoemaker, Courtney (Sean) Wood, Nicole Penkalski and Madison Penkalski; three great-grandchildren, Cade Shoemaker, Bobby Keirns and Paisley Wood; brother, Glenn Chinn of Mt. Orab; sister, Carolyn Kendall of Waynesville; sisters-in-law, Mary Frances "Cookie" Fields and Judy Mason; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.
Besides her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Donald William “Bill” Main, on June 4, 2022; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carol Jean Chinn, Terry Kendall, Ronald and Shirley Main, Robert "Bob" Mason and Elmer Fields; nephews, Edward Main and Tyler Mason; and great nephew, Jonathan Willoughby.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in the Marshall Cemetery.
