Jay Amon Young

Jay Amon Young, 87, of Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023.

He was born Nov. 17, 1935 in Peebles, the son of the late Ezra and Mabel (Amon) Young.

Jay served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church.

Jay is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Purdin) Young; sons, Sam (Brenda) Young of Winchester and Jerry (Lana) Young of Denver, Colo.; daughter, Sarah (Ken) Kisling of Hillsboro; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Jan (Tim) Gillespie of Tipp City.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Kay Young and Gary Young.

Funeral services will be Monday, Oct. 2, 2023 at 2 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.

Friends may call Monday from 1 p.m. until time of services at the Thompson Funeral Home.
