James Richard “Richie” Kelley

James Richard “Richie” Kelley, 49, of Greenfield, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 4, 2023. 

He was born on Sept. 6, 1973, in Hillsboro, the son of Jimmie Kelley and Sharon C. (Price) Kelley. 

Richie was a 1992 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School. He was a man who love the Lord and enjoyed reading his Bible. He was an excellent worker. He would do anything for anyone, no matter the time. He always went above and beyond. He loved his animals, farming, history, drawing, laughing, the beach, but most of all, his family. He was smart, clever, quick-witted, funny, a wonderful husband and uncle, a fighter, but most of all, an amazing dad. 

Richie is survived by his wife, Jennifer Johnson Kelley, whom he married on Feb. 29, 2004; daughter, Johanna Kelley; father, Jimmie Kelley; sister, Jennifer (Scott) Carter; nephew, Levi Carter; niece, Taylor Carter; sister-in-law, Rhonda Kelley; close family friend, Jamie Schrader; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Kelley; a brother, Bryan Kelley; and a nephew, Hunter Kelley. 

There will be no visitation.

A celebration of Richie’s life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
