In only her second high school varsity season, Hillsboro sophomore Camryn Spruell was selected as second-team All-Ohio by the Ohio High School Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association.
Spruell was a standout for the Hillsboro Lady Indians in the spring of 2023 on the softball diamond, as she was a big part of the team reaching the district finals in Division II.
This past season, Spruell had a .631 batting average at the plate, with an on-base percentage of .667. The second-team All-Ohio selection also had a slugging percentage of 1.274, and she finished with 53 hits, including 11 doubles, two triples and 13 home runs.
Spruell also collected 55 RBI and 44 runs, and she was walked 12 times, including five intentional walks.
In the circle as a pitcher, Spruell dominated with 121.2 innings pitched. In that span, she was 18-3 overall with one save. She allowed 57 hits, 29 earned runs and struck out 235 batters.
Spruell now has 354 career strikeouts in two seasons as a varsity pitcher with a two-year career record of 25-5 overall.
Spruell also had a 1.668 ERA, and opponents batted .137 against her in ‘23.
