Hillsboro softball scores 11 runs in FAC victory at Chillicothe

Six runs in the second inning, along with five more runs in the final three innings, were more than enough for the Hillsboro Lady Indians to defeat the host Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers Wednesday night for an 11-1 Frontier Athletic Conference win.
Hillsboro’s six runs in the top of the second were just the start of their scoring spree against Chillicothe, as they added two runs in the fourth inning and three more runs in the top of the sixth for their 11-run total. HHS also collected eight hits and committed no errors.
Chillicothe scored their lone run in the bottom of the sixth inning as they totaled one run, one hit and six errors.
Camryn Spruell was excellent in the circle, finishing the day with six innings pitched and collecting nine strikeouts. She allowed one run (unearned) on one hit and two walks. Spruell totaled 73 pitches, 50 for strikes, and she faced 21 batters.
Spruell also was 3-for-4 at the plate with three runs, three RBI, a steal and she hit a home run.
Kinsey Gilliland finished 2-for-4 with one run, one RBI and she hit a home run.
Halle Reveal went 1-for-4 with two runs, and Eowyn Brown was 1-for-4 with two runs and a RBI. Addie Huff finished with a run and two walks. Hannah Burton ended the day at 1-for-3 with one run, two RBI and a walk. Morgan Garman scored a run and had one RBI, a walk and three steals.
The win improves Hillsboro to 7-2 overall.
