Hillsboro PD updates body-worn cameras
In December of 2022, the Hillsboro Police Department received a Body-Worn Camera Grant award in the amount of $55,475.90 from the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services. On Monday, May 1, the Hillsboro Police Department deployed 10 Axon Body 3 cameras as a result of this grant funding.
The Axon Body 3 cameras are among the latest generation of the Axon product line and will provide a means for the Hillsboro Police Department to continue to comply with law enforcement best practices.
Since 2019, the Hillsboro Police Department has employed the use of body-worn cameras and has mandated their use by all on-duty officers. On Feb. 4, 2020, the Hillsboro Police Department was awarded final certification by the Ohio Collaborative Community-Police Advisory Board on the use of body-worn cameras.
