Hillsboro Indians defeat Eastern by 4 goals

The Hillsboro Indians moved to 3-0 overall to start the 2023 season, winning on Monday (Aug. 28) in a home non-conference match against the Eastern Warriors by a 6-2 score.

HHS led 1-0 at halftime, then outscored EHS, 5-2 in the second half for the four-goal victory.

Hillsboro had two players score two goals in the victory with Wesley Bailey scoring two goals and also collecting two assists, while Carson Scott also scored two goals.

Scoring one goal each were Ryan Howland and Judah Brandyberry.

Tate Davis finished with two assists, while Howland and Jacob Schommer each had one assist.

At goal for the Indians was Ryan Fender, as the keeper finished with five saves.

In all, the Indians took 31 shots, as the Indians improved to 3-0 overall.

Hillsboro is scheduled to play again Thursday, Aug. 31 on the road in the Frontier Athletic Conference opener for the 2023 season against the Jackson Ironmen at JHS with a 5 p.m. start.
