West Union couple jailed after 1-year-old overdoses

An Adams County couple is in jail after first responders used naloxone to revive their 1-year-old child Wednesday night, according to a WCPO article.
WCPO reports that Angel Hesler, 19, of West Union called 911 to report that the 1-year-old “was having trouble breathing,” telling dispatchers that the child “was acting all doped up like.”

“Medics administered Narcan when the 1-year-old showed signs of an opiate overdose,” according to WCPO. “The child was transported by helicopter to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, and he is expected to make a full recovery.
“Adams County Sheriff’s deputies believe the little boy accidentally came into contact with heroin through absorption or ingestion.”
The child’s parents, Hesler and Adam Boling, 21, were both arrested, WCPO said.
According to Adams County Court entries, Hesler and Boling have been charged with endangering children, a third-degree felony. They were both arraigned Friday and placed under a $150,000 bond. A preliminary court hearing for Hesler and Boling has been scheduled for June 16.
