UPDATED: ‘Armed and dangerous’ suspect who fled from Ross County killed in Kentucky

According to Ross County Sheriff George Lavender, a suspect considered “armed and dangerous” was killed Thursday night in Flatwoods, Ky. after a chase.
The Chillicothe Gazette is reporting that Kiser Sturgell, 27, of Jackson and Ashley Jenkins, 23, of Lucasville, were pronounced dead by the Greenup County Coroner’s office following a “shootout” after leading Greenup County, Ky. law enforcement on a chase.

Lavender reported that his office and the Pike County Sheriff’s Office were assisting the U.S. Marshals Wednesday in serving warrants in Pike and Ross counties. A warrant attempt was made on Sturgell at 632 Keiser Road in southern Ross County.
Sturgell ran out of the residence, reported to have a rifle and threatened to shoot anyone who came after him. Sturgell was pursued into the woods but was lost.
Approximately 30 minutes later, Sturgell allegedly stole a 1997 burgundy Buick Lesabre (HBS2211 tag number) from the 300 block of Keiser Road at gunpoint.
