Special notices for Highland County Board of Elections

The Highland County Board of Elections will hold a special meeting Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 8 a.m. in the board office. This meeting will consist of approving the voting machine and ballot allocation for the General Election. The public is welcome to attend.

The deadline to register or fill out a change of address before the General Election is Oct. 9 by 9 p.m. at the Highland County Board of Elections Office, 1575 North High St., suite 200, Hillsboro. You can also register at the License Bureau, Highland County Job and Family Services, Highland County Treasurer's office and local public libraries.

The Highland County Board of Elections will be changing hours for the General Election, starting Sept. 4. The hours are as follows: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.; and Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.

In-office absentee voting will begin Oct. 2 at the board office.
