Sen. Uecker highlights local projects following first Controlling Board of the 133rd Assembly

COLUMBUS – State Senator Joe Uecker, R-Clermont County, this week expressed his support for two local projects that were approved for additional funding this week by the State Controlling Board – a mechanism for handling state budget changes and approving state spending.
"I am happy to see the Controlling Board approve funds to improve the trail network in our community and also make needed upgrades at the Brown County Agricultural Society," said Uecker. "I look forward to seeing the progress made on these projects that will ultimately have a positive impact on the lives of people in southwest Ohio."
Specifically, $126,750 was released for design and construction administration services for the net phase of stabilization projects at the Little Miami State Park, along the Little Miami Scenic River in Greene, Warren, Clermont and Hamilton counties.
In addition, $150,000 was approved for capital improvements at the Brown County Agricultural Society for the construction of the Junior Fair Covered Arena, located at the Brown County Fairgrounds.
During the 132nd General Assembly, Uecker worked with his Senate colleagues to secure funding for the arena through the State Capital Budget.
The facility will be owned by the Brown Coutny Agricultural Society and sponsored by the Brown County Horseman's Association.
"It was a pleasure working with Brown County to secure funding for this project, and I applaud the Controlling Board's approval which will allow it to move forward," Uecker said.
Senator Uecker represents the 14th District in the Ohio Senate, which encompasses all of Adams, Brown, Clermont and Scioto counties as well as a portion of Lawrence County.
