Paint Valley ADAMH Board welcomes new associate director

The Paint Valley Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Board is pleased to announce that Melanie Swisher has recently joined their staff as the new associate director.
“Melanie brings a clinical background, experience with the community and leadership acumen that will help move the Board forward as behavioral health redesign and managed care integration evolves,” said Penny Dehner, Executive Director.

Before joining Paint Valley ADAMH Board, Swisher was a social worker at Adena Health System in Chillicothe for one year. She worked for Scioto Paint Valley Mental Health at the Floyd Simantel Clinic for over 11 years before that. She initially began working there as a social worker and then became a team leader. During her last seven years at the clinic, she served as the clinic director. It was during Swisher’s time working for Scioto Paint Valley Mental Health that her passion for working with and advocating for those experiencing mental illness and addiction flourished.
“I am so excited to be a part of the great team at the Paint Valley ADAMH Board,” Swisher said. “I am looking forward to working with the agencies of our community to promote recovery for those experiencing mental illness and addiction.”
Swisher holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Wright State University and a master’s degree in social work from Ohio University. She is a native of Dillonvale and currently resides in Wellston with her husband of 18 years and her two children.
The Paint Valley ADAMH Board is a political subdivision of state government created in 1967 by the Ohio legislature to ensure the availability of community-based alcohol, drug addiction and mental health services for the residents of Fayette, Highland, Pickaway, Pike and Ross counties.
