The National Weather Service has issued a second winter weather advisory for the weekend.

The new advisory will be in effect from 6 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 8 until 4 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9. One to two inches of new snow, plus freezing rain, are in the forecast.

Meanwhile, all available crews from ODOT District 9 facilities continue battling snow and ice.

Snowplow operators from Adams, Brown, Highland, Jackson, Pike, Ross and Scioto counties are plowing and treating the state highway system; however, roadways throughout the area are snow covered and icy.

Crews were on duty throughout the night Friday and early Saturday morning, but motorists need to use extreme caution.
