Merchants National Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of Beth Kirkendall to Assistant Vice President, Branch Manager & Residential Lender at its Athens branch. The promotion expands Kirkendall's responsibilities to include residential lending while she continues to lead the Athens branch.

Kirkendall joined MNB in August 2023 and brings extensive banking experience and a passion for relationship banking to her role. In addition to managing branch operations, she will now help customers achieve their homeownership goals by providing residential lending solutions tailored to their needs.

Prior to joining MNB, Kirkendall served as a Commercial Lender and Member Services professional, where she built strong customer relationships, helped clients navigate financial solutions, resolved complex account needs, and supported efficient branch operations. Those experiences strengthened her passion for customer service and helping individuals and businesses achieve their financial goals.

“Beth embodies everything we value at Merchants National Bank,” said Sheri Smith, Chief Lending Officer. “She is a dedicated leader, a trusted resource for our customers, and someone who genuinely cares about the success of the people and communities she serves. Adding residential lending responsibilities to her role allows her to further strengthen those relationships while helping individuals and families achieve homeownership. We are excited to see her continue growing in this new capacity.”

She is actively involved in the Athens community, serving as a Board Member of the Children’s Conservation League, a member of Kiwanis, and an Ambassador for the Athens County Chamber of Commerce. She also serves as a youth soccer coach at Alexander and volunteers with several local initiatives, including Joy of Toys, the Shining Star Gala, Athens-Meigs Farm Bureau, Back to School Bash, and the Athens Period Project.

Outside of work, Kirkendall enjoys traveling, attending community events, and growing her collection of houseplants. Most of all, she values spending quality time with her husband, Skyler, their children, Carter and Emma, and their family pets while creating meaningful memories together.
