Hillsboro Police Report

The following is the Hillsboro Police Report for Dec. 27.

Daniel Weber, 26, of Riverview, Fla. was cited for speed.

Macy Vearil, 25, of Lynchburg was cited for speed.

David Lee Jones, 39, of Hillsboro was arrested for theft.

On Dec. 27 at approximately 2:34 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department responded to the 800 block of West Main Street in reference to a male and a female involved in some type of alleged altercation. When located, the male and female denied any altercation; however the female was a protected party listed in a protection order. The male who was present was the respondent on the order. The male was identified as Douglas L. Maxfield Jr., 48, of Lynchburg. Maxfield was arrested for violation of protection order and transported to the Highland County Justice Center.
