Hillsboro man sentenced on abduction charge

After failing to appear in court, a fourth Hillsboro man was sentenced to prison this month on an abduction charge from an incident in Greenfield last fall.
Nathan Day, 26, was arrested Oct. 11, 2017 after the Greenfield Police Department responded Oct. 4 to a report of a possible assault at 1300 Jefferson Street. Upon further investigation, responding officers determined through witnesses that a female had possibly been abducted from the scene.
Witnesses were able to identify vehicles and four suspects associated with the case. All four suspects were charged with abduction, a third-degree felony.
Day had been scheduled for sentencing Feb. 7, after he entered a guilty plea Dec. 22. However, after failing to appear in court, a capias warrant was issued for Day.
Day was sentenced to a definite determinate term of nine months, with credit for 73 days of jail time served.
The other three individuals charged in the case – Virgil Bryant, 53; Tina Bryant, 52; and Sabrina Banks, 23 – each pleaded guilty and were sentenced in Highland County Common Pleas Court Jan. 31.
