Hillsboro man charged with burglary, resisting arrest

On Aug. 27 at 7:39 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received several calls in reference to a male that appeared to be heavily intoxicated.

Upon police locating the subject, he was found lying in the doorway of an apartment. Officers noticed that the apartment was forced open and damaged the door of the housing.

The male entered the residence as police arrived and advised the police to leave his home. Upon officers checking the residence, it was found that the subject did not live there and had broken into the apartment. The resident was contacted, and it was found that the subject did not belong there for any reason and is otherwise not known to the resident.

The subject was arrested and physically resisted officers for a short time. Afterward, he was transported to the jail.

Kenneth D. Mullis, 26, of Hillsboro was charged with burglary and resisting arrest.
